The Philadelphia Phillies are World Series champions again in 2009... well, virtually, anyway. Sony simulated the Phillies-Yankees match-up (see: video above) to predict the series winner before tonight's Game 1 at the new Yankee Stadium.
Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira manage to push the Phils to a decisive Game 7, but A-Rod is without a World Series ring. Instead, Chase Utley gains a second ring and the honor of series MVP due in part to a three-run homerun in the top of the 8th inning of Game 7, sealing an improbable 8-2 victory against the heavily-favored Yankees.
Sony's World Series Predictions Highlights: Final Scores: Game 1: Phillies, 12-3
Game 2: Yankees, 5-4 (10 innings)
Game 3: Phillies, 6-1
Game 4: Phillies, 6-3
Game 5: Yankees, 9-1
Game 6: Yankees, 6-1
Game 7: Phillies, 8-2

Tune in to Fox tonight to watch the Phillies win... That's not my Philly-born bias, either. That's just what Sony's Game 1 simulation is predicting.
