Special: We continue our weeklong look back at our forty favorite games from 2009.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer Bethesda Softworks
Release Date: October 13, 2009

"Fallout 3 was already great game, so Fallout 3 GOTY can only further the cause. A huge quest combined with tons of new adventures makes for the kind of game you can buy and still be playing it months later, and the ability to do quests in numerous ways (along with some epic sequence breaking action if you want) gives it a good amount of replay if you ever decide to give it a run with another character. With Broken Steel eliminating the УendingФ that made it impossible to explore after finishing the story, now you can fully explore the wastes without any urgency, whether you're out hunting raiders, locating new settlements, abandoned buildings, and dungeons...or any quests you have yet to discover. If you haven't yet played the game, this version is the one to grab Ц for the same price as the original, you get $50 of extra content." - Adam Woolcott

Flower
Platforms: PS3
Publisher: Sony
Developer thatgamecompany
Release Date: February 12, 2009

"Flower is one of the most simple-natured PlayStation Network games, so much so that it comes off as an experimental title rather than a full-fledged downloadable game. But, it's this type of game that differentiates the PS3 from anything on Xbox Live. This unconventional game movement is officially part of a growing trend on the PS3 and could be its key to success instead of a major "killer app" like Metal Gear Solid 4 or Killzone 2 as you'd expect." - Matt Swider

Forza Motorsport 3
Platforms: Xbox 360
Publisher: Microsoft
Developer Turn 10
Release Date: October 27, 2009

"Forza 3 is many things; an entertaining and sometimes challenging racer for hardcore types, or with the right adjustments, a laid-back and simple racing sim for those who otherwise would be hitting the walls constantly and finishing at the back of the pack. The game has issues, and isn't a huge improvement over Forza 2 (aside from the really good front end presentation), but it's still a fun and lengthy simulation of racing for those of us still into that stuff." - Adam Woolcott

God of War Collection
Platforms: PS3
Publisher: Sony
Developer Bluepoint
Release Date: November 17, 2009

"For those who have not yet experienced the Adventures of Kratos, the God of War Collection is a no-brainer, and probably the best overall value on PS3 this year. Two great games for $40 (complete with all the bonus features from both games, of which there's plenty), with a demo for the third game included. Series veterans will see the absolute best versions of the games, and they serve as a tune-up for March 2010 when God of War III sees release." - Adam Woolcott
