Red Faction: Armageddon officially announced by THQ @ Gaming Target

News: It's coming to the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in March 2011.

THQ announced today that Red Faction: Armageddon, the next game in the Red Faction series, is being developed by Volition, Inc. studio. It will be multiplatform, releasing on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in March 2011. Volition's Geo-Mod 2.0 technology is being utilized to bring players Ц and I quote Ц Уnever-before-seen physics-based weaponry that redefines gameplay in the shooter genre.Ф There will be redefining in the new game, and also a lot of hyphenated descriptions. I don't know about you, but I'm eager to hear more!

Through Darius Mason, you struggle underground on Mars to protect and save humanity from a vague Уgreater evilФ that seems to be ready to Уextinguish all life on the planet.Ф That is a pretty serious accusation against evil, but I'll buy it. I'm hoping Volition is ready to bring us more destruction than ever before, and that they bring some of it to the made-for-SyFy movie THQ is also making. See below for more of the official details.
