News: The NBC, Fox and Disney-backed streaming service backs Sony and Apple first.
Hulu, the NBC, Fox and Disney-backed streaming video service, is launching Hulu Plus for $9.99 a month, and, with it, support for game consoles and portable devices from Apple.
The monthly fee will allow subscribers to view full current seasons of shows as well as all seasons of select shows that is said to run into the hundreds. Currently, the website has 33 "all season shows" listed, including The X-Files, Arrested Development, Heroes and The Office.
Of interest to gamers is the devices tab, which confirms the long-rumored support of PS3, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Xbox 360. While Sony and Apple managed to get support for their devices for the expanded service's July launch, Microsoft's Xbox 360 won't see Hulu Plus integration until early 2011.
In addition to access to more content and having Hulu accessible on mobile and TV-connected devices, Plus will allow subscribers to see the content in high definition. There's currently a Request an Invite page on Hulu website and you can be sure Gaming Target will let you know how the service performs as soon as it launches.
