News: Steve Jobs e-mailed the Apple team this morning informing them of his medical leave of absence. Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple's day to day operations.
Steve Jobs has asked Apple's board of directors for a medical leave of absence so that he may focus on his health. The CEO and co-founder of the company sent an e-mail to the Apple team saying that he would continue in his role as CEO and still be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.
That being said, Apple COO Tim Cook will become responsible for the company's day to day operations. Jobs ended the e-mail with "I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy."
