News: 150+ fitness-oriented activities spanning a variety of categories.
Spring is the ideal time to release a fitness-oriented game because that's when most New Year resolutions start to crumble and the cookies (which also crumble) find their way back into your diet. Namco is taking full advantage of this annual trend by announcing that ExerBeat, its new rhytm-based fitness game, will release in the spring season for Wii.
With more than 150 fitness activities including dance, martial arts, body conditioning and mini-games, ExerBeat is all about creating a virtual workout studio. Enhancing the experience, the Wii Balance Board and Wii MotionPlus are optional accessories to push yourself to the limit.
To ensure you don't quit, the game will feature an in-game personal trainer for custom, goal-based workout programs as well as motivating daily and weekly challenges.
While there's an estimated calorie calculator, fitness tips and a feedback guide, the most interesting stat idea is found inside the game's Around the World mode.
"Around the World mode converts players' workout results into an equivalent distance walked across the globe. This provides a tangible, visual representation of progress as players see their Mii characters traveling the world and stopping at nearly 100 international locations along the way. At each landmark, new exercises and modes are unlocked and interesting facts about the local culture are revealed, providing an enriching experience for the mind as well as body. With the ability to track multiple profiles, players can compete to travel farther than their friends and family."
