Tecmo Koei's bloody and bloody hard action game Ninja Gaiden 3 will be playable at E3 2011, according to the conclusion of its GDC 2011 trailer. Embedded below, this short clip features the main character Ryu slashing away at the camera's perspective and being covered in massive amounts of the red stuff. Basically, doing what a sword-wielding ninja does best.
This short 30-second teaser video doesn't contain any gameplay footage, but Tecmo Koei claims that the title will be just as violent and difficult as Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II. It won't, however, be under the direction of Tomonobu Itagaki, the first two games and creator of Dead or Alive. The former Team Ninja designer left in 2008 after alleging that the publisher failed to pay bonuses for DOA 4.
Another change is that the game will release on Xbox 360 and PS3 simultaneously. Previously, PS3 owners had to wait a year or more for Team Ninja to developer the "Sigma" edition for their console of choice.
We're really interested in seeing how this third game turns out under the new leadership at Team Ninja. That'll have to wait until June, when E3 2011 takes place right here in Los Angeles. We're likely to get hands-on time with a demo of the game and hopefully a solid release date. Between now and then, we're hoping to receive screenshots to help ease the wait.
