Outside Link: Xbox Live may be online while PS3's network is offline, but it doesn't have these exclusives.
PSN outage or no PSN outage, Xbox 360 can't hold a candle to the exclusives that PlayStation 3 has to offer this week. That's what I say in my latest G4TV.com article, Exclusives Put PS3 Ahead This Week: Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4. You can take solace in knowing that there's exclusive content to be had in each of these games on the PS3, even though you can't connect for online gaming, downloading demos or streaming Netflix, Hulu MLB.TV, etc. A major headache at the moment, but it's only a temporary setback.
Read more about the impressive extras that you'll get from Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat by owning the PS3 versions instead of Xbox 360 copies. Also, read my paragraph highlighting SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, a PS3-exclusive title by original developer Zipper Interactive. Sure, exclusives happen multiple times a month, but it's rare that a single company sweeps the entire week.
So, yes, Xbox Live is up and running and
PSN is down at the moment. But, as soon as your networked PS3 is back online and functional, these extras, detailed at
G4TV.com, will have been worth the wait.
