News: PlayStation Network is still down, but we can tell how to find out when PSN will be back online.

Since PSN is still down, the big question on everyone's mind is: When will PS3 be back online? Here's our source - Gamers in the UK and other countries have a leg up on everyone in America when it comes to knowing the answer thanks to the official PlayStation UK site. Like a Paul Revere signaling to everyone that the British are coming with a lantern, the United Kingdom focused website will change its PlayStation Network status icon from red to green when PSN comes back online. Gamers in France also have a similar online or offline icon, which currently reads "Non disponible," which translates to unavailable; in Spain it's "Desconectado;" in Turkey it's "╟evrimdışı."

The same theme is repeated with the word Offline (in English) on the status of the official PlayStation sites for Germany, Australia, Romania, Portugal and basically every other country outside of the US.

Sadly, the official PlayStation site here in the United States doesn't have a PSN status icon and Sony has only updated its blog twice, so far sparse with detail on when PSN will be back. So visiting the homepages designed for merry old England neighboring countries and allies are the going to be the first way to figure it out - short of repeatedly logging onto PSN and signing in again and again.

The network, which has been down for four whole days, has left PS3 and PSP gamers without access to online gaming and the PlayStation Store. That means arcade game, betas and demos are not available. In addition to ticking off gamers who have taken to Facebook and Twitter, Sony and third-party videogame publishers aren't making money or able to promote their content through the console and portable store.

Of course, GamingTarget will keep you updated on PSN's status and tell you when it goes live - we just figured you'd like our source of this information ahead of time.
