Xbox 360, PS3, PC News: See the CoD Elite Black Ops video that demos the game's Theater Mode and how it'll be incorporated into the new portable for all things Call of Duty.
Along with today's Call of Duty Elite news for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC, Activision put together a custom-made CoD Black Ops video, all of which was captured using gameplay footage using Theater Mode.
This 6 minute 41 second video, featuring familiar music from The Rolling Stones and CCR, demos the features of Elite, stressing the the career, connect, compete and improve aspects of the new service. Everyone is in a tizzy about the fact that some features of the new service will come at a premium. But the "user" who "uploaded" this video, fictitiously named TheLegendofKarl, does a really fine job of explaining the advantages of CoD Elite.
What TheLegendofKarl doesn't divulge, however, is the price of CoD Elite or which features will cost money and which won't. From what we can gather from Activision's presentation two weeks ago, statistics and connecting with other CoD players is free. We're unsure which category the contests fall into and if CoD Elite premium will come with perks like free map pack DLC.
CoD Elite will launch alongside the November 8 release date for CoD Modern Warfare 3. Even if you don't pick up MW3 on day one, however, it'll still work with Black Ops and, from our hands-on testing, is shows your career stats retroactively. We'll have more information on CoD Elite and CoD MW3 at E3 2011, so be sure to come back in exactly two weeks for the full news report.
