PS3 News: Even though Sucker Punch Productions extended the beta due to PSN being down, the game is set to release next week. So a demo came out today.
The inFamous 2 release date is almost upon us and that means so too is the choice to between good and evil for one Cole MacGrath. While gamers have to wait until the June 7 release date to get their hands on the full sequel, there's currently a demo of the Sucker Punch-developed game on the newly relaunched PlayStation Network.
The inFamous 2 demo includes both story missions and side quests in the world of New Marais (aka this game's take on New Orleans, if you haven't already guessed). Like Empire City before it, New Marais acts as a urban jungle gym for the game's conflicted protagonist. His powerful electricity, fire and ice projectile abilities are only outshined by his use of parkour moves that help him scale buildings and walls in the environment.
A limited inFamous 2 beta was released on April 12 to test out the new create-a-mission mode. However, hackers put a hold on the beta testing a week later when
PSN was shut down and remained offline for 24 days. On top of that, the PlayStation Store, where new testers could download the the beta, remained offline for 49 days.
Sucker Punch Productions did say via Twitter that it would be extended the beta, but the company hasn't given a status update since PSN's full restoration this week. Nevertheless, PSN is back online a week ahead of E3 2011, and that means the inFamous 2 demo is out and ready to be downloaded by its eager fans.
Are you going to download inFamous 2 or wait to purchase the full game?
