E3 2011 News: Halo 4 is on its way to Xbox 360, according to an early update by Xbox's official website. 343 Industries likely to develop.

Update: Video: Halo 4 trailer for Xbox 360 from the Microsoft E3 2011 Press Conference

Halo 4 has been outed by none other than Microsoft's own Xbox website, a mistake that NowGamer picked up on minutes before Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference. The videogame publisher had, had to have more Xbox 360 surprises planned besides unannounced Kinect videogames for its E3 2011 press conference. While the 9:30 start time is just minutes away, we know that a Halo sequel is going to be announced, probably toward the end of the press conference, and surely be the headline of the morning.

Original Halo developer Bungie has already had its long send-off with 2010's Halo: Reach. That means Halo 4 will be developed by a new company, likely 343 Industries. This would pave the way for a Halo 4 2012 release date, as Gears of War 3 is currently scheduled for September 20, 2011 on Xbox 360.

Gaming Target will have more E3 news about announcements at Microsoft E3 2011 as company's Press Conference at the Galen Center continues today. Tomorrow, we'll give you the first hands-on coverage. Stay tuned.
