Bodycount News: Bodycount, the FPS that makes gunplay is core mission on Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC, releases on August 30 in the US and Canada.
Stuart Black or no Stuart Black, Bodycount has a release date and official box art for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. This spiritual successor to the 2006 gun-porn PS2 and Xbox game Black had its creative director of the same name flee last year, giving us some worry about its status over at Codemasters. But with an August 30 release date nailed down, the countdown to Bodycount has begun and the publisher even provided the FPS game's final box art as proof of its impending release.
Consider me a believer. With guns as its focus, this stylish FPS showed promise at E3 2011. Like Black (the game, not the designer in this case), almost everything you shoot can be turned into rubble, showcasing the impressive environmental destruction of Codemaster's EGO engine. Adjectives like "turbo-charged" and "high-octane" are used to describe the gunplay and campaign gameplay, respectively. So, it's safe to say that slow-paced quick-time events aren't of interest in the action gameplay here.
Look for these boxes, which appropriately feature a gun, to hit store shelves at the end of August. That's when earning skill kills and chaining kills for a score and placement on Bodycount Mode's online leaderboards becomes an art form.
