God of War Origins News: You may think Kratos' return to the PS3 is a bit of a rehash because you played the PSP games. But see out the differences in the remastered version.

God of War Origins Collection comparison trailer video is below

PSP's God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta are coming to the PS3 in the form of God of War: Origins Collection. But the prequel pair is not alone. Joining them on this Blu-ray disc are HD graphics and stereoscopic 3D effects, the latter being a first for the normally 2D Kratos-helmed God of War series.

Today, however, Sony is allowing us to take a look at the spruced-up HD graphics (after all, demoing a 3D trailer is next to impossible). Here's a 30-second video of a side-by-side comparison of God of War: Origins Collection on PS3 and the originals on PSP.

Naturally, the newer PS3 version looks sharper and cleaner, running at 1920 x 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. The PSP video, meanwhile, maxes out at 480 x 272p and 30 fps. The experienced hands at portable developer Ready at Dawn did an excellent job at porting the two games onto the home console, where cinematic games God of War are meant to be played, in my opinion. Of course, you shouldn't expect God of War III caliber visuals from Origins. This $40 compilation is still bound by the fact that it was built for a handheld and not from the ground up on PS3. We'll let you know how much we see the difference between the PS3 and PSP versions in our full review of September 13-bound game.
