The Gears of War 3 release date is Tuesday, September 20. What will you do in the meantime? How about watch every single official cinematic and gameplay trailer in anticipation of the launch day right here on this page. We have four GOW3 trailers courtesy of YouTube, conveniently embedded on this page. Be sure to maximize to full screen to get the full УEpicФ effect.
The first trailer, Ashes to Ashes, debuted back in April 2010, featuring Macrus Fenix's in a dramatic Locust battle alongside his death squad - including a girl. It also featured an April 2011 release date, which of course was changed to September following a five-month delay. For anyone still wondering, the catchy Ashes to Ashes song is called УHeron Blue" by Sun Kil Moon, a San Francisco-based folk rock group.
The second Gears of War trailer, What Have I Become, features another catchy song - this one more popular from the outset - from Johnny Cash called УHurt.Ф This YouTube video, clocking in at 1:45, has Marcus and his crew going up against a horde with the words УTogether Till The EndФ remaining on the screen when everything fades to black. This would be the last of the GOW3 trailers to display the April 2011 release date before its subsequent delay.
Finally, the Gears 3 trailers demo some gameplay with the third official video simply titled Campaign Trailer. This minute-long look at the third-person shooter shows gunfights, bosses, explosions and even some on-rail gameplay segments. There's even a rocking Ozzy Osbourne track to go along with the action.
In the same vein as Ashes to Ashes, the fourth and final trailer before Monday's launch trailer is called Dust to Dust. The Ashes to Ashes song, also slow and sad like the debut video, is called Into Dust by Santa Monica-based alternative pop group Mazzy Star. The name seems to be very appropriate given the title of this dramatic trailer. Another fade to black with УTo The EndФ appears, initially with the full text saying УBrothers To The End.Ф
