Have you been able to get either a Xbox Series X|S or PS5?
On the official Portal 2 blog, Valve is giving a preview of Portal 2's next update. The simplified puzzle creator will let players easily carve out their creations in a straightforward but powerful way. They'll then be able to immediately upload those levels to their Steam Cloud and share them with other players online. We're also building a community site to host all of these player-created puzzles. The site will allow players to quickly find new puzzles and add them to their game, ready to play, with a single click. Players will then be able to rate the puzzles they've played, leave comments for puzzle creators, and follow creators they like. This update is more than just a face-lift, and completely in line with Valve's reputation for taking player feedback to heart. The puzzle creator has been out for months, but many users have found it complex and intimidating. This update should make playing GlaDOS, as well as distributing your tests to willing subjects, much easier. While it appears that this editor will only be available on PC and Mac, the PS3 version's compatibility with PC/Mac via Steamworks suggests that access to this user-created content may not be out of the question for console players. We have reached out to Valve for clarification on this. With this announcement on the heels of a free soundtrack and DLC, Portal 2 is the gift that keeps on giving. If you haven't tried it yet, there's never been a better time, and remember, buying it on PS3 gives you a free PC/Mac copy.
