Alan Wake PC Release Date News: In addition to releasing Alan Wake's American Nightmare on XBLA, Rockstar Games announces that the original Xbox 360 game is coming to PC.
Alan Wake finally has a PC release date: Spring 2012 - more than two years after psychological thriller game first released on Xbox 360. It's funny, when Max Payne developer Remedy Entertainment first announced that the game was "coming to next-generation consoles and PCs" in 2005, the Xbox 360 wasn't even named as one of the guaranteed systems - the PC platform was the only "sure thing." That didn't exactly turn out the way that PC gamers had hoped, however. Well, after rumors and months of official denials, those gamers will at long last be able to venture into the town of Bright Falls.
The PC version of Alan Wake will include the Xbox 360's downloadable content, so Rockstar Games isn't making you pay extra for The Signal and The Writer DLC. Good - and free - things do come to those who wait two extra years. The company also released the first Alan Wake PC screenshot (above).
Alan Wake's PC release date of Spring 2012 puts it in the same window as the XBLA release of Alan Wake's American Nightmare. That downloadable Xbox Live release won't be a direct sequel or the rumored Alan Wake 2, but a game with an independent storyline starring the eponymous character.
Gaming Target will have more on both Alan Wake for the PC and Alan Wake's American Nightmare as their release dates draw near.
