This weekend in the ideal time to get back into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 online multiplayer because Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game are in Double XP Weekend mode right now. A Double XP Weekend means that every experience point you earn online gets you closer to the coveted Prestige Mode if you aren't already there yet. So, every kill, headshot, kill confirmed, etc is worth more.

The reason for the Double XP is to celebrate the new downloadable content, CoD MW3 Double XP Collection 1, which came out for Xbox 360 earlier this week. The MW3 DLC 1 release date for PS3 and PC gamers is Уcoming soon,Ф according to the team at Sledgehammer Games. Rest assured, everyone is gaining a Double XP Weekend bonus, not just Xbox 360 gamers. The always-outraged PS3 CoD MW3 gamers will be especially happy to know this.

CoD MW3 DLC Collection 1 Release Date for Xbox 360
CoD MW3 Collection 1 contains four multiplayer maps and two unique Spec Ops missions, making it the biggest DLC pack in Call of Duty's history. Despite the size, this DLC is still 1200 Microsoft Points or $15. Of course, if you're a CoD Elite subscriber, you get Collection 1 for free and already received half of the maps in January and February: Liberation, Piazza and Overwatch. Brand new to everyone is the downed Air Force One multiplayer map called Black Box and the two Spec Ops missions, Black Ice and Negotiator. So far, PS3 Elite subscribers have the first three and are scheduled to get the latter three maps in April.

As if a Double XP Weekend wasn't enough to celebrate the release of CoD MW3 Collection 1, Activision brought in two NFL athletes fresh from last month's 2012 Superbowl and had them play the new maps with (and against) Gaming Target and other Los Angeles-based video game journalists. The star players were New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw and New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Both athletes held their own in the various modes, Kill Confirmed and Domination being among the favorites, and this best of five УDelta vs. Whatever Wasn't Delta match-upФ came down to the last game. Much like the Superbowl, the Giants-led six-man team came away with the victory in a very close 3-2 series. Ahmad Bradshaw can count this CoD MW3 grudge match as yet another championship where strafing on the field (of battle) is of the utmost importance.
