Ghost Recon: Future Soldier News: As the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier release date approaches for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, watch the YouTube video of the multiplayer mode.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is looking like the next best multiplayer option if you've become tired of Call of Duty: MW3 and haven't bought into the CoD Elite map packs to extend your stay. Proving that point, Ubisoft released a short Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer trailer via YouTube that demos how it look like CoD MW3, but with a few important tweaks.
The first difference found in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier vs CoD MW3 is the emphasis on teamwork in multiplayer. MW3 has Spec Ops mode, but the focus on here seems to be integrated right into the multiplayer mode, which is nice. With team-based objectives online, this could be a worthwhile experience for you and your buddies (or random multiplayer players if they mic up and get in line).
Ghost Recon games, and almost all Tom Clancy titles, in general have required a little more discipline. It's never gotten to the point of some tactical shooters (a la Operation Flashpoint games), but the GR franchise has eschewed your typical run-and-gun arcade warfare for more strategic gameplay. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, as demonstrated in the YouTube multiplayer trailer, seem to keep with that theme by encouraging stealth tactics like sidling up next to cover.
Even with the teamwork and stealth system in place, the multiplayer in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier plays as if it's Call of Duty's cover-based, third-person shooting brother. It even has a new wave-based mode called Guerilla, which is reminiscent of MW3's endless survival mode. Some of the changes make it look a little different, but the feel in certainly just as chaotic. You can judge for yourself by watching the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer trailer in the YouTube video below.
