New official Crysis 3 screenshots accompany that gameplay trailer

Crysis 3 Screenshots & Trailer: The 2013 Crysis 3 release date hasn't held back the gameplay trailer or screenshots from showing off the capabilities of the CryENGINE.

Crysis 3 has a release date of Q1 2013, but that doesn't mean this recently announced sandbox FPS is too distant to steal some of our attention. These official Crysis 3 screenshots and the latest trailer for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game still do the job by showing off the impressive CryENGINE and the graphics-crushing performance that developer Crytek is able to pull off this generation. Who needs next-generation consoles at E3 2013 when graphics like this can still be developed on the current machines?

The Crysis 3 gameplay trailer that popped up on YouTube late last month is now joined by seven new official screenshots. They too detail the Liberty Dome (the nanodome that covers a ravaged New York City in the year 2047) and feature the Prophet. As you can see from the screenshots, he uses a composite bow, devastating alien tech, and an enhanced Nanosuit to become the deadliest hunter on the planet. As the game's marketing department correctly suggests, the hunted has become the hunted.

Below is the Crysis 3 trailer in case you missed it, followed by the six additional screenshots that show of the power that the CryENGINE is going to bring to this first-person shooter. The only downside is that we have to wait until 2013 for the Crysis 3 release date to roll around.
