Dirt Showdown's release date has been delayed by two weeks on Xbox 360 and PS3, pushing the game back on those systems from May 29 to June 12. That means Codemasters' arcade-focused racing and destruction derby game will release on consoles after E3 2012, not before, as original intended. That doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong with Dirt Showdown. It seems to be more of a strategic delay than one that calls for more polish. So, don't worry if you have Dirt Showdown pre-ordered.
Even though Dirt Showdown's release date has been delayed on the Xbox 360 and PS3, its PC release date remains Thursday, May 24. Yes, that's right, the PC version of a racing game is coming out before its console editions. According to Codemasters and North American publisher Warner Bros, Dirt Showdown will be available to download from Steam.
Dirt Showdown is just the latest game to be delayed. Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite were two notable delays this month, the latter of which won't be at E3 2012 at all.
