Darksiders 2 Release Date News: We knew Darksiders was delayed on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC from June to August last month and now we know the release date.

Darksiders 2 release date news

THQ narrowed down the Darksiders 2 release date to August 14 a month after delaying the hack-and-slash PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game from June to August. In addition to knowing the exact release date, we also now know the two reasons that Darksiders 2 was delayed. According to Joystiq, which sat in on a recent THQ conference call, the company said that the new date was a "demonstration of our commitment to quality,Ф meaning the game needed a bit more polish before it hit store shelves, and that "mid-August is a more favorable release window," which typically translates to Уthe original release date faced too much competition.Ф

Darksiders 2 may become a make-it-or-break-it game for the financially struggling video game publisher. The good news is that THQ has been able to get the word out there about this sequel, at least on Gaming Target. We recently posted the Darksiders 2 story trailer, talked about the Darksiders 2 pre order bonuses, went hands-on with Darksiders 2 and took an in-depth look at Death, the game's main character.

We'll know whether or not Death does well for THQ when the new Darksiders 2 release date rolls around on August 14 and, in time, for Wii U, as it's part of the launch window for Nintendo's fall-bound console.
