CoD MW3 DLC News: Call of Duty: MW3 received Collection 2 DLC today, which includes new Face-Off mode maps. Watch the YouTube video of Collection 2 here.

CoD MW3 Collection 2 DLC

Call of Duty: MW3 Collection 2 DLC is big, with a total of seven maps, but its focuses is on smaller battles. That's because the DLC's new Face-Off mode pits you in 1v1 or 2v2 matches on two tightly-focused maps - close-combat gunfights are inevitable at this range. The fun part is that while these two mini maps - Getaway and Lookout - don't leave much room for error, they make way for a completely different gameplay feel. As you can see from the trailer below, the developer clearly had Wild West duels in mind. Just don't expect your opponents to respect the У50 pacesФ rule very often.

In addition to the pair of Face-Off maps, CoD MW3 Collection 2 comes with three additional multiplayer maps: Sanctuary, Foundation and Oasis. Rounding out Collection 2 are two Special Ops Missions: Iron Clad and Switch Back. You can see a sample of these new maps in the trailer as well.

Xbox 360, thanks to Microsoft's timed-exclusive DLC deal with Activision for all CoD games, gets CoD MW3 Collection 2 first. On top of that, Xbox 360 gamers are being treated to two additional Face Off maps free of charge. Mentioned at the bottom of this morning's press release and briefly shown off in the Collection 2, Erosion and Aground are both free to download via Xbox Live. Eventually, PS3 and PC gamers will receive Collection 2 (PS3 DLC has lagged a month behind in the past with the PC version following shortly thereafter) and the Erosion and Aground Face-Off maps - although maybe not free.

The good news is that we know CoD MW3 Collection 2 is free to all Elite subscribers. So, you're already able to download this content if you ponied up an extra $40 for CoD MW3 Hardened Edition, which came with an Elite membership, or unwisely paid $50 for the membership after buying the regular version of the game. If you don't fit either of these two descriptions and you're not a paying CoD Elite member, you can always download Collection 2 for 1200 Microsoft Points or $15.
