News: BioShock for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game when the release date rolls around next February.
BioShock Infinite won’t have a multiplayer mode when the video game’s release date arrives on Feb. 26, 2013, confirming months of on-again, off-again multiplayer rumors.
This long-awaited announcement about the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game comes from creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games Ken Levine. The developer made this detail known in response to a fan’s query via Twitter.
“@tnaygc: @IGLevine what do you think about Infinite's Multi? will it damage the story?” tweeted a fan to the developer.
“No MP in Infinite,” Levine said simply in a retweet.
While some video game fans are disappointed that developers don’t spring for extra modes like multiplayer, people excited about BioShock Infinite seem rather pleased that the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game is sticking with a single-player campaign.
“Thank sweet baby Jesus no multi,” said one user in response to Levine’s announcement.
I don't see the obsession with multiplayer from some devs, like every game ‘has’ to have MP for whatever reason,” said another.
With the BioShock Infinite multiplayer rumor finally at rest, now all Levine has to answer for is whether or not the BioShock Infinite will come to Wii U at some point.
