Kindle Fire HD 8.9 Price News: Amazon is selling both the Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch WiFi and Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G LTE models with a $50 discount today.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch price on Amazon

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch and Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G LTE tablets are on sale at Amazon today, starting at just $249.

Amazon is offering this as a one-day sale on its two most advanced e-reader models, taking $50 off of the top if the coupon code FIREHD89 is plugged at checkout.

This Amazon deal makes the Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch WiFi 16GB model just $249 for all of Dec. 10, or while supplies last. The 32GB upgrade, normally $369, will cost a more reasonable $319.

The price of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G LTE tablet will see the same $50 price drop: $449 for the entry-level 32GB model and $549 for the best Kindle Fire HD model, the spacious 64GB version.

All versions of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch come with the “Special Offers,” which are actually sponsorships with a much less threatening name. Going without these ads puts $20 back on the price of the tablet.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9 price gets its turn

This is the best Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch price on Amazon so far, but not the cheapest this season for the online retailer’s Kindle Fire line.

That distinction belongs to the original Kindle Fire, last year’s model, which was discounted on Cyber Monday to just $129. Normally, the price is $159.

Of course, the Kindle Fire vs the Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE is night and day. The latter tablet has a much better 1920x1200 HD screen, superior under-the-hood tech specs, and cellar data.

Entering the coupon code FIREHD89 when checking out is essential. Not doing so and being unable to get this time-sensitive discount would be an unfortunate first-world problem.
