Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC in HD with a summer release date, Sega announced today while also releasing the first YouTube trailer for the game.
The company appealed the retro gamer in all of us by releasing a teaser trailer for something that appeared to be a modern day remake of Castle of Illusion. Now Sega has confirmed that, in collaboration with Disney Interactive, it will be releasing Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse as a complete reimagining of the adventure that was first released in 1990.
Developed by Sega Studios Australia, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will be available worldwide on Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, and the PC. Completely rebuilt from the ground up, the game will feature high-definition graphics and new gameplay mechanics.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse made its debut on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1990 to critical acclaim. The game controlled well and had excellent music and graphics that helped to bring the Disney magic to millions of Sega fans around the world. Those who played the original will enjoy the original storyline in this remake as they help Mickey save Minnie from the evil witch, Mizrabel. Those who haven’t will be in for a treat as they get to experience this adventure for the first time.
