News: A new Tales of Symphonia HD collection has just been revealed on PS3 for Japan, Europe and North America

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles on PS3

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (working title) is headed to North America in 2014, exclusively on the PS3. Earlier today Namco Bandai revealed that Tales of Symphonia: Unisonant Pack will be released in Japan on October 10. The original Tales of Symphonia was a Gamecube exclusive with its sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, being an exclusive for the Nintendo Wii. It now appears that both are getting the HD remake treatment and will be available in Japan this year and everywhere else sometime in early 2014.

Apparently the HD remasters will also feature new cut-ins for Artes as well as some costumes from Tales of the Abyss. Japan is also getting a “Lalabit Market Limited Edition” which will come with five figurines, a novel and a box drawn by Ufotable for 9,980 yen. There is no word on whether that specific edition will be released outside of Japan.

Are you interested in Tales of Symphonia Chronicles on the PS3? Did you play the original titles on the Gamecube and Wii? By the time this HD collection is out in North America the PS4 will be on the market and keep in mind it isn’t backwards compatible. Does that even matter to you? Check out the announcement video below and tell us what you think.
