Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer live stream video

CoD Ghosts News: Check out the CoD multiplayer reveal from Los Angeles, where we are covering the live streaming event as it happens.

The Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer trailer made its debut in Los Angeles today, revealing the first action-packed maps, seven, new game modes, more than 20 new kill streaks like Juggernaut Maniac and calling in Reilly the dog to sick enemies.

"Call of Duty: Ghosts continues the tradition of unrivaled gameplay and innovation that has made Call of Duty one of the most engaging entertainment experiences in the world played by more than 100 million fans," said Activision Publishing, Inc.'s CEO, Eric Hirshberg. "Call of Duty set the benchmark for the current gen and that's exactly what we're aiming to do for the next generation."

New CoD Ghosts modes include Cranked where players can explode in this time-based mode and Search and Rescue where allies can be revived through tags.

Squads is a new game mode that fits in between the campaign and multiplayer in which you can compete against AI or others live players (sounds like an enhanced version of Kill Confirmed). That way it can be played solo, too.

Game types in this mode include Squad vs Squad, Wargame, Safeguard, and the 6-player Squad Assault against offline squads.

Dynamic maps make CoD Ghosts sounds like the evolving tracks of Split/Second. Octane, blow up a gas station and take cover from the fallen room. It's all about giving the player control.

"This is the biggest overhaul of multiplayer since the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," said Mark Rubin, Executive Producer, Infinity Ward. "We're pouring our hearts and souls into making Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer the best it can be on next gen and current gen alike. With all the customization options, our new Create-a-Soldier system, dynamic map events, new perks and killstreaks, tactical player animations, new Squads mode, Clan support in-game and on second screen, it's the complete online experience."

New gameplay feature include contextual lean, dynamic mantling (jumping) system and the knee slide. At the event, two professional MLG teams demoed CoD Ghosts on a new map called Strike Zone.

CoD Ghosts is fueled by Activision and Infinity Ward's new next-generation engine, according to the companies, which called it "the biggest overhaul of Call of Duty ever."

Create-a-soldier premiered, offering 20,000 possible combinations and dwarfing classes. Female soldiers will now be included among the multiplayer features.

We're at the event to demo and gain some XP before it launches in November.

Check out the CoD live stream, and check back for more Ghosts hands-on impressions on this page. We're hoping to get a demo with the Xbox One version of the game, and if not, the Xbox 360 version. We're not expecting the PS3, PS4 or PC versions of the game to be available at the event since Microsoft and Xbox have a big presence here.
