News: EA and DICE reveal that you will be able to upgrade from current to next gen with ease when Battlefield 4 gets released later this year.
Hot off the heels of the Call of Duty MP reveal, DICE has released new information regarding the Battlefield 4 multiplayer as well. With Battlefield 4 on Xbox One and PS4 there will be huge 64-player battles running at a smooth 60 frames per second. If you choose to initially go with the Xbox 360 or PS3 version then when you decide to upgrade to next gen your transition will be really easy. All of the time that you spend on the current gen version will carry over when you upgrade from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One or the PS3 to the PS4.
DICE also revealed today that they want to keep the action going all year long with the return of the premium membership for Battlefield 4. With this membership, players can expect themed digital expansion packs, new weekly content and personalization options. Your Battlefield 4 premium membership will also transfer over from current to next gen as well so EA has you covered in that aspect.
EA will be holding a Gamescom press conference on August 20 at 10:00am ET for a first look at the Battlefield 4 premium content. They will also be telling us about an all-new Battlefield 4 multiplayer mode and map as well as other titles in their library.
