Saints Row 4 sells over a million units, new DLC now available

News: Join in on the fun with the new Saints Row 4 DLC which allows you to live like a president or get new weapons with the Grass Roots pack.

A critical success before it hit store shelves, Saints Row 4 appears to be a commercial success as well. Deep Silver has revealed that Saints Row 4 has sold more than one million units through its first week of retail availability. In the first few days of its availability on PC, Saints Row 4 more than tripled its first week’s sale numbers over the prior release from THQ, Saints Row: The Third. It also appears that Saints Row 4 is leading the charts in almost all major European countries during its first week on sale.

“We are incredibly happy of the reception for Saints Row IV as a critical and now a commercial success,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of parent company Koch Media. “The development team at Volition is second-to-none as a driving creative force in the entertainment industry and we are very proud to have them as part of the Deep Silver family.”

In addition to Saints Row 4 selling sell in stores there is also new DLC available for it. That new downloadable content comes in the form of two new packs with the Presidential Pack and the Grass Roots Pack. In the Presidential Pack you will get to don the facades of two of our most highly-regarded founding fathers or disguise as the two Heads of State who heralded in the new millennium. You can choose between four Presidential Masks or wear the classic hairstyle of days gone by with the historical wig. Show the citizens of Steelport what tradition means with the historical presidential outfit or a female historical costume.

In the Grass Roots pack you will get to beef up your arsenal with an assortment of special Grass Roots weapons. You will be able to decide between a double-barreled shotgun, an assault rifle, or go for the politically approved Plunger Launcher that lets you shut up any opposition quickly. This pack also includes two new characteristic Grass Roots outfits and a fancy truck, complete with a pink flamingo. Both packs are available for $2.99 each. It should also be noted that these DLC packs are not a part of the Saints Row IV season pass.
