GTA Online details revealed by Rockstar, launches October 1 at 7am eastern

GTA Online News: Rockstar reveals final details about GTA Online and says it should become available tomorrow around 7am, eastern time.

GTA Online arrives tomorrow and Rockstar has revealed some final details to whet your appetite. As everyone knows access to GTA Online is free with your purchase of GTA 5. Tomorrow there will be a small downloadable title update released on PSN and Xbox Live. Once that title update is installed then direct access to begin GTA Online will be unlocked in your GTA 5 game menu. You will be able to jump right into GTA Online via the 4th (bottom) slot in your GTA 5 character wheel. Rockstar said they expect the update to hit PSN and Xbox Live around 7am eastern tomorrow.

The events of GTA Online take place a few months prior to the events in GTA 5. Rockstar has also come up with a way to prevent some really annoying “griefing”. They have designed “house party invitations” specifically to be a friendly social affair where you can have friends visit your place without fear of having them ruin the place or losing your hard earned vehicles. If someone invites you into their property, then it is considered a friendly visit and you will not be able to shoot up their place or steal their cars. It should be noted that, in any given lobby, if you and a friend own the same piece of property, you will be able to enter your own personal instance of that property at any given time. You will also be able to enter each other’s instance of that property if you exchange and accept an invite.

Rockstar then went on to discuss some of the ways they have come up with to ensure fair play online. All players will have to rank up with Reputation Points (RP) in order to get access to purchase high-end items. You can’t simply begin GTA Online and expect to spend a lot of money immediately to try and get an early advantage. You will have to earn your stripes and prove that you are worthy before you can acquire the finer things in life. You can earn GTA money by doing robberies, stick-ups, winning races and and other profitable activities. Rockstar has promised that the game will be continuously monitored and balanced to try and solve whatever problems might come up as quick as possible but they need the community’s help to do that.

GTA Online will be an experience that continues to grow. There will be a massive amount of jobs available to play over time and Rockstar will continuously add more and more. You can also create your own custom Race and Deathmatch Jobs through the content creator which Rockstar plans to release at some point this fall.

You will be able to create your character in GTA Online and the hereditary-based character creation system will allow for a lot of different options. You will be able to choose your gender and then be able to choose who your mom and dad are. You then will adjust a set of lifestyle variables which will help to determine your character’s appearance and starting stats. You will be able to preview our end result in real time all throughout to ensure you’re satisfied.

If you are a member of the Social Club you will get access to weaponry and vehicular unlocks, a whole new suite of Crew features to represent and coordinate with your squad and special tools to get the most out of Rockstar Jobs and user-created jobs when the content creator launches.
