GTA Online News: GTA Online is experiencing day one server errors and Rockstar has promised to work round the clock to fix it.
GTA Online seems to be having the same day one failures that a lot of other titles suffer from. Rockstar released a title update earlier this morning that opened the flood gates to the millions of people who have purchased GTA 5. There are some players reporting that there are slow load times and some can’t even access GTA Online at all.
Rockstar even anticipated these issues and warned players ahead of time that millions of players slamming the servers at the same time would most likely result in some problems. On Rockstar’s website they stated, “We are working around the clock to buy and add more servers, but this increased scale is only going to make the first few days even more temperamental than such things usually are. This is part of the problem some of you have been experiencing with the iFruit App and some Social Club services - we apologize in advance for this and thank you for your patience in this area.”
Rockstar knew last week that this was a likely scenario and began taking steps to correct it which hopefully means these day one issues will be nothing but a memory in a few days. Unfortunately it isn’t as easy as flipping the magical internet switch to get everything working. If you are experiencing problems with GTA Online or can’t even get in then there are a few different avenues you can go down to try and contact Rockstar. You can email them at GTAOnline@rockstargames.com or post in the GTA Online forums in the Social Club. If you would like to keep up to date with what is going on you can also visit Rockstar’s support page.
According to the latest post which was updated two hours ago as of this article being posted, Rockstar is looking in to the following issues:
Occasional “Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable” error message
Freezing sometimes while loading into first race in GTAO with “waiting for other players” on the screen
Intermittent “Failed to Host a GTA Online Session” error messages
Race Corona (start area, marker) occasionally not showing up for first race
Errors saying “Time out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join”
Occasional errors about jobs failing to start or load
General issues with the Social Club site and Social Club features (slow loading, failed logins, emails not arriving, etc). For more information on Social Club status you can visit http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200357093
