News: Skullcandy teams up with Ubisoft to release a special Assassin’s Creed 4 gaming headset tuned specifically for AC4.

Skullcandy has announced the launch of the Skullcandy SLYR (“Slayer”) Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Edition gaming headset. The studio’s first officially licensed gaming headset, the Skullcandy SLYR Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Edition will feature a new and unique custom color as well as artwork inspired by the game’s iconic Animus virtual reality machine. In addition, Skullcandy has worked directly with Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft to develop a custom tuned audio profile with three distinct EQ settings designed to greatly accentuate the dynamic audio environment, story and action found within Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.

The Skullcandy SLYR AC IV Black Flag Edition provides Assassin’s Creed fans with precision stereo gaming audio with cross-compatibility with Xbox 360®, PlayStation® 3, Wii U™ and PC as well as most smartphones, tablets and MP3 players. Additional features include a stashable boom mic; the GMX in-line mixer with volume and game-to-voice balancing controls; and, of course, a unique new color and graphic treatment as well as custom audio profiles developed by Ubisoft to ensure the game’s audio is experienced exactly as they intended.

Throughout the development of the Skullcandy SLYR AC IV Black Flag Edition, Skullcandy engineers worked closely with Ubisoft to effectively enhance the subtle details and audio cues found within the dynamic Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag game world. The engineering team created three customized audio profiles that greatly enhance the game’s immersion and overall auditory experience. The Bass Mode elevates the thundering explosions and battle cries during action sequences to terrifically loud levels – all without dampening the highs; Precision Mode emphasizes environmental effects such as water, wind and the all-too-familiar whispers; and, Supreme Mode applies Skullcandy’s now-legendary full-frequency response to the entire Black Flag environment.
