WWE 2K14 News: 2K Sports is giving you the chance to either defend or destroy Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

WWE 2K14

WWE 2K14 is coming out in a couple of weeks and some new information has been recently released by 2K. The ‘30 Years of WrestleMania’ mode has been covered before but continuing on the WrestleMania theme, 2K has just introduced “Streak Mode”. WWE fans will immediately recognize what this means but for those who aren’t aware, WWE Superstar, The Undertaker, has wrestled at 21 WrestleMania events and won every time. He is undefeated at WrestleMania and each year is a big deal to see if anyone will finally snap the streak. Now 2K Sports is paying homage to the Undertaker’s unprecedented run at WrestleMania.

Within the “Streak Mode” you will have a couple of different options. You can choose to either try and defend the streak or try to defeat it. If you want to try and defend the streak then you will get to use either Undertaker or the retro version of Undertaker. You will have to defend the streak’s legacy in a non-stop, slobberknocker-style contest. You will raise your score by defeating as many Superstars in a row as you can. Once you have done that you can upload your results and scores online to prove how dominant you are at defending Undertaker’s undefeated streak.

If you elect to try and defeat the streak you can choose any Superstar or Legend on the WWE 2K14 roster, including a custom wrestler you have created. WWE 2K14 has four levels of difficulty, however, if you are feeling bold, this specific mode has a fifth “Undertaker at WrestleMania” difficulty which is extremely difficult. In this mode Undertaker will have some special abilities such as being able to turn off lights in the arena right when someone is going for a pin or attempting to hit a finisher. Once you are finished you will get a match score to see how well you did. There will also be a special section where you can view Undertaker’s past victims, photos, bonuses and more.

Other changes in WWE 2K14 include more options in an already robust customization suite. You can create your own championship belt and import it into the Universe mode. There have been additional storylines added to Universe as well. If you are someone who wants to create your own superstar you are now able to use an existing WWE Superstar as a template, if you so choose.

Those who have played the WWE games in the past know that reversals can be tricky and that two people who are really good can just go through reversal after reversal. Well, the reversal system has been overhauled for WWE 2K14 so when you reverse a move it goes directly into that reversal moves, meaning there are no more infinite reversals. More reversal animations have been motion captured to try and give it another level of authenticity.

There are also new “OMG moves” such as DDT’ing off the ring apron, placing someone by a ring post and kicking their head into the ring post, a double finisher (such as Ryback doing the Shell Shock finisher to two people simultaneously), catapult finishers and more. For those who don’t know about catapult finishers they are finishers that are a bit more action oriented. A few examples of this are Randy Orton hitting the RKO in mid air when opponent is flying off the top rope or Antonio Cesaro hitting a big European uppercut sending someone in to the air, only to catch them and quickly hit his finisher.

WWE 2K14 is coming out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 29. Are you looking forward to trying to take down Undertaker’s streak? Will you be picking up the game?
