South Park: The Stick of Truth News: Ubisoft reveals that South Park: The Stick of Truth has suffered another delay with the release date being moved back to March 2014.
South Park: The Stick of Truth has suffered yet another delay. It was supposed to be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in December, however, South Park has now become a 2014 title. According to Ubisoft the reason for the delay is that the game isn’t up to their standards yet. They have had to overhaul many things since acquiring the game and it is taking longer than expected.
“Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted,” says Ubisoft North America’s president Laurent Detoc. “It’s been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn’t let it go, even if that meant missing December.”
“We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park,” say Matt Stone and Trey Parker. “Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”
Clearly there are going to be some disappointed fans with this news but we must keep in mind that delaying a game to make sure it can live up to its a potential is almost never a bad thing. In addition to announcing the delay, Ubisoft has also released a brand new video for South Park fans to enjoy. Take a look at the video and tell us what you think. South Park: The Stick of Truth is now slated to hit Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 4, 2014.
