Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII demo now available on Xbox Live

News: Demo for new Final Fantasy game is now available on Xbox Live and should hopefully be on PSN soon.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is now only a few weeks away from being released. You don’t have to wait that long to get an early look at the game however as Microsoft has just announced that the demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is now available on Xbox Live. Additionally, it should become available on PSN at any moment now but as of the time this story went live it wasn’t available.

In this demo you will guide Lightning as she traverses the chaos-infested Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow. You will experience Lightning’s new customization options and master the game’s completely overhauled battle system. Players who complete the demo and activate Outerworld services within the game to submit their battle score will unlock the ‘Siegfried’ outfit in the full retail game. Apparently this is something that you will really want so it might be a good idea to go through this demo before the game arrives on February 11.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has a new battle system that gives direct control over the action unlike any Final Fantasy game, while having iconic elements that are known and loved throughout the series. A world on a course for total annihilation presents unique challenges; where certain areas, missions, and people will only be available during selected periods.
