News: Naughty Dog talks about some of the things we can expect in this new DLC as well as show us the opening cinematic for Left Behind.

The Last of Us Left Behind

The Last of Us was released last summer and ever since then everyone has been eagerly awaiting new story content. We are now only a few weeks away and Sony has just released a cinematic interview detailing Left Behind, the DLC from The Last of Us that will serve as a prequel to the game’s events. In this cinematic interview they talk about both Ellie and Riley’s relationship, how it developed and how it transforms Ellie in to the person that you see during the main campaign. With this being a prequel Ellie has not met Joel yet and he will most likely not be involved in any way.

One of the interesting things that Naughty Dog has been talking about is that this prequel will show a more playful side of Ellie. Obviously the events of The Last of Us are very serious but before that takes place there was a time when Ellie can simply act like a kid. We have seen very little footage this new content but it appears that Ellie’s demeanor is not the only change. There will obviously still be some tense moments and one of the more interesting aspects is that you can now play the infected off of your human enemies and vice versa. An example that has been given is perhaps throwing a bottle in the vicinity of someone who is hunting you so that a clicker can go over and eliminate them instead of you having to do so. It is an interesting new gameplay mechanic that I hope gets fully fleshed out and knowing Naughty Dog, we are all in for a treat.

The Last of Us: Left Behind is set to be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Check out the interview below along with the opening cinematic for Left Behind and tell us what you think. Are you excited to learn more about Ellie’s past?
