News: Thrustmaster unveils its second wheel for Xbox One which will release in April in the UK and May in North America.
Thrustmaster has just unveiled its second wheel for Xbox One with the Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel. With the Ferrari 458 Spider, Thrustmaster is making it possible for everyone to have a real wheel to use in racing games on Xbox One, allowing gamers to experience unrivaled driving sensations, and all of the fun involved – without the investment in learning time required to master a Force Feedback wheel.
Features which are not only simple, but also both original and effective, have been incorporated into this 7/10 scale replica (at 28 cm in diameter) of the wheel on the real Ferrari 458 Spider car. The first thing one notices is that this is a sports-type wheel – GT-style, more specifically – which really catches the eye, thanks to its red, textured rubber Ferrari grip. Two wheel-mounted Up and Down sequential paddle shifters, crafted of metal, add to the product’s sporty look and design.
There aren’t any options with the Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel – but that’s only because everything that you could want already comes standard! The wheel features nine action buttons (including “View” and “Menu” buttons), a two-position Manettino dial, an Engine Start D-pad and an Xbox Guide button. Under the hood, the wheel incorporates the Thrustmaster bungee cord mechanism, Thrustmaster’s patented wheel recentering system – delivering realistic linear resistance, no matter how far the wheel is turned. Featuring 240° of rotation, this system allows you to take the most efficient line on the track.
The Ferrari 458 Spider also lets users customize their wheel, which can always be adapted to meet the driver’s needs. The wheel’s steering sensitivity can be adjusted, and includes four presets – allowing users to optimize the wheel’s performance according to the type of track, the car being driven or their preferred driving styles. The pedal set, incorporating a large foot rest, features pedals whose angle of inclination can be adjusted, and a brake pedal with progressive resistance.
Finally, the wheel includes a controller pairing LED for Kinect, along with a central clamping system which easily adapts to any type of support surface. The Ferrari 258 Spider Racing Wheel will be available from April 18, 2014 for €99.99 in the UK. It will be available in North America on May 1, 2014 for $99.99. Will you be picking this up?
