News: Tequila Works game has now gone free on XBLA for the next two weeks as part of the Games With Gold program.

Deadlight

It is now the second half of the month and that means that a new game is available for free on Xbox 360 as part of the Games with Gold program. The new game that is now available for free is Deadlight from Tequila Works. Set In an apocalyptic world in 1986 on the US Pacific Coast, Deadlight is a narrative driven experience. Randall, our hero, is alone, introverted and slightly paranoid. His enemies are hordes of the undead and they react as a swarm to the player's presence. They are a threat alone, deadly in groups. Your priority is in dividing their packs. But be careful, the environment is a character itself; there are deadly traps and a misstep means death.

With gun (or thumb stick, as the case may be) in hand, you guide Randall through a sidescrolling, survival-horror adventure across the Pacific Northwest. Eerie environments both above and below the surface expose you to the worst and the best of humanity, and test your puzzle-solving wits – and when all else fails, your quick trigger finger. But, like any good survival-horror title, the emphasis in "Deadlight" is very much on avoiding conflict instead of confronting it... or, at the very least, confronting it with something other than the very limited ammunition at your disposal.

"Deadlight" also features an extra challenge for the truly masochistic in its "Nightmare Mode," where zombies (and other enemies) are far tougher – but in which Randall may also come face-to-face with some harrowing truths that the easier routes omit.

Check out the trailer below for Deadlight and tell us what you think. Deadlight will be free for two weeks on Xbox Live Arcade. On May 1 there will be a new game available, although we don’t know which game yet. Are you looking forward to playing this game? Let us know what you think below.
