The Walking Dead: Game of the Year Edition Might Be Heading To PS4 and Xbox One

News: Gamestop has “leaked” a product listing for The Walking Dead: Game of the Year Edition for PS4 set to come out in June.

It appears that The Walking Dead: Game of the Year Edition is heading to PS4 (and presumably Xbox One as well). This Game of the Year Edition was discovered on Gamestop’s website and the release date listed as June 17, 2014. This edition includes the complete first season as well as the “400 Days” DLC. It should be noted that Telltale has not officially made an announcement stating that The Walking Dead was coming to PS4 or Xbox One. These types of “leaks” though tend to be on the money more often than not though so while it is only a rumor at this point, it is probably a pretty safe bet that this will actually happen.

Based on Robert Kirkman’s groundbreaking comic book series, The Walking Dead is an episodic Adventure Horror game series set during the same apocalyptic period witnessed by Sheriff Rick Grimes. Telling the story of a new group of survivors as they struggle to flee the horror of Atlanta and the surrounding communities consumed by the undead, The Walking Dead offers players the chance to experience the very first days of the apocalypse, meeting people and participating in events that intersect with the story seen in the comic books.

The ‘400 Days’ DLC helps that is included bridges the gap between seasons one and two. It chronicles the horrific aftermath of the undead outbreak through the eyes of five new characters as they struggle to survive the first 400 days of the apocalypse. Playable in any order, the five connected short stories are centered in and around a Georgia truck stop, where players will be thrust into horrifying situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions.
