News: The WWE Network is finally available on Xbox One bringing with it the past, present and future of wrestling.
The WWE Network has been available on a variety of devices since the launch back in February and now it is available on the Xbox One. The WWE Network is a wrestling fan’s dream come true with wrestling streaming 24/7, seven days a week. It has both original content as well as historical content. With the WWE Network you have access to every pay per view that was ever produced by the WWF/WWE, WCW and ECW. You even get the current pay per views as part of the package. A few weeks back I was able to stream WrestleMania 30 on WWE Network and watched it live as it happened. The Xbox One version reportedly works very well and doesn’t have the buffering problem that other consoles have had. The layout is nice and clean and if you don’t see something you want you can simply hit the start button on the Xbox One controller and do a search. Putting “Mon” in the search box brings up various wrestling references such as Money Inc., the Money in the Bank Qualifying Match and much more. By searching for Dolph Ziggler I was able to watch the moment when he cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Alberto Del Rio within moments.
In addition to the pay per views there is exclusive content that will only be found on WWE Network. There is the brand new reality show “Legends House” which has a bunch of WWE Legends such as Rowdy Roddy Piper, Mean Gene Okerlund, Tony Atlas, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and more living in the same house. There are “pre-game” and “post-game” shows for both Raw Is War and Smackdown. You can watch Main Event and Superstars every week which is not currently on tv in the United States. You can even watch NXT which is a showcase for young up and coming wrestlers that hope to be the future of WWE. There is almost 2,000 hours worth of content here with more being added all the time. You can watch the very first episode of Monday Night when it made it’s debut back on January 11, 1993. Unfortunately we don’t have access to every episode of Raw ever but, hopefully, that will come in time. They do have episodes though from 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
The best part about all of this is that it only costs $9.99 a month (with a 6 month commitment). That means it is essentially $120 a dollar to subscribe to the WWE Network. If you were going to go the traditional route and order pay per views through your local cable provider you would be spending around $600 a year and all you get is those pay per views. For $120 a year you get everything I have mentioned here and more plus the ability to watch the current pay per views, such as being able to watch Extreme Rules this coming Sunday.
Do you already subscribe to the WWE Network? If not, were you waiting for it to arrive on Xbox One?
