News: Following closely on the official announcement about Halo 5 is the rumor that a Halo HD Collection is coming to Xbox One with Master Chief’s story.

Halo HD Collection

Microsoft officially revealed Halo 5: Guardians earlier today and now a new rumor is suggesting even more Halo news. Apparently Master Chief is going be on the Xbox One a lot with the rumors of an Halo HD collection. These rumors claim that Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 are being collected and will be in one Master Chief HD Remastered collection. Since there is no official word on this no one knows who the developer might be and I’m assuming it isn’t 343 Industries because they are busy with Halo 5: Guardians.

Microsoft obviously wants there to be a Halo game every years as it is a big money maker for them and Xbox gamers love Halo. Although this does put in to question the status of the Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, which is also heavily rumored to be coming out later this year. The rumors suggest that Halo 2 Anniversary Edition might come out for Holiday 2014, Halo 5: Guardians will be out in Holiday 2015 (confirmed by Microsoft earlier today) and then in 2016 we will see the new Gears of War game.

This could be a great way to bring gamers up to speed with the Halo franchise in case they haven’t jumped in to the series in the past or for fans who simply want to revisit these classic games. In the case of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 it also means we could now earn achievements for going through those games.

What do you think about these rumors? Is there any merit to them or is it just wishful thinking? Tell us what you think below.
