News: Video Games Live has revealed some of their E3 plans as well as announcing new shows that will take place around the world.

Video Games Live

Video Games LIve has revealed some new details about their show next week during E3 as well as 60 new dates around the world. Video Games Live is continuing its 10 year tradition of pulling out all the stops for its annual E3 show in Los Angeles by bringing in special guests, first time ever music premieres, industry stars and prizes. The performance is currently set to take place on Wednesday evening, June 11, at the Nokia Theatre, across the street from the Staples Center and E3 itself.

“We typically like to keep our setlist a secret” says prolific game composer and Video Games Live creator/executive producer Tommy Tallarico, “but there are so many incredible performances, spectacular performers and industry special guests that I decided this time around to publish almost the entire setlist to the public as nothing like this has ever been attempted for a video game concert anywhere in the world! Since starting Video Games Live over 13 years ago, this particular show is definitely going to be one of our biggest and most exciting shows ever. Being partnered with E3 allows us to bring the entire industry together for a complete celebration of the gaming universe.”

A small sampling of some of the guests and world premieres that will take place include:

  • World premiere of music from Blizzard Entertainment’s highly anticipated upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, conducted by Audio Director and Composer Russell Brower

  • Youtube sensation Malukah performing her song “Dragonborn Comes” from Skyrim (over 40 million+ views)

  • Music from the Halo trilogy featuring composers Marty O’ Donnell & Mike Salvatori

  • Grammy award winning composer Christopher Tin conducting the first and only Grammy Award Winning video game song “Baba Yetu” from Civilization IV featuring Peter Hollens

  • Blizzard/Zelda concert special guest Eimear Noone to conduct Kingdom Hearts

  • During the show, the world's leading record label dedicated to releasing video game soundtracks, Sumthing.com is giving away a year of free music downloads to three lucky winners. Sumthing's catalog (over 250 albums!) features some of the most popular soundtracks of all time such as HALO, Castlevania, Deus Ex, Fable, Hitman, Journey, Mass Effect, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Uncharted and many more! Prize will be awarded on stage during the show to lucky winners (any ticket holder will be able to enter).

The ever popular pre-show costume contest will be in full effect right before the show starts as each costumed member will be brought on stage as the audience decides the winner by volume of applause.

In addition to what will be taking place at E3, Video Games Live has also revealed the performance of over 60 shows around the world taking place over the next 9 months. Countries include the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Columbia, China, Italy, England, Belgium, France, Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Austria, South Africa, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey and more.

Will you be attending the E3 show of Video Games Live? It should be noted that you do not need E3 credentials to attend this concert. What do you think about some of the lineup that has already been revealed? Tell us your thoughts below.
