Destiny Beta Now Available On PS4 and PS3 Along With Companion App

News: The Destiny beta has begun on the PS4 and PS3 and coincides with the release of the Destiny Companion app for iOS and Android.

The Destiny beta is now live on the PlayStation Network and to help celebrate, Activision and Bungie have also released the Destiny companion app. The Destiny companion app should be available for both iOS and Android phones and you can download it from their respective marketplaces. Bungie has said there is no plans for a Windows Phone version. With this companion app you will be able to track your progress toward becoming Legend. It should also be noted that the companion app is only available for phones right now. Bigger versions (such as the iPad version) will be available when Destiny launches in September.

As far as the beta itself, the download weighs in at approximately 11 gigs, so if you don’t have a fast internet connection it is going to take you a while to download it. Even if you do have a fast connection it will still probably take an hour or two to download. It should also be noted that all Beta participants that play on Saturday, July 26, starting at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time, will earn an exclusive in-game emblem.

If you haven’t received your beta code for Destiny yet be sure to check your spam folder in your email as Bungie has sent out the emails that contain codes. If you still don’t have it then go on to Bungie.net and then in to your profile and hit the “codes” tab to get your download code.

While you are playing the Destiny beta you also need to keep the following in mind:

The beta will be offline for scheduled maintenance on July 21-22 and open back up to pre-order participants across all platforms until 11:59 pm, Pacific time, on July 27

The beta begins for Xbox One and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Gold required, subject to change) at 10:00 am, Pacific time, on July 23.
