Sherlock Holmes Art of Subversion Trailer Released

News: Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments to show off the game ahead of the release this month.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is coming out later this month. Earlier today Focus Home Interactive released a new video about the art of subversion by Sherlock Holmes. Holmes is known for his high intelligence, and high level of deduction skill. However, Sherlock as he was imagined and written by Arthur Conan Doyle is also a master of disguise, a characteristic that Frogwares transposed in Crimes & Punishments, as one of the many skills the players will actively use to solve the 6 cases of the game.

In turn, we find at Baker Street, in Holmes' bedroom, a wardrobe that holds the key to Holmes' disguises, as well as a dressing table housing wigs, hats, glasses, different hair styles and beards. everything needed to transform into about anyone! This is a very useful skill, when it comes to approach suspects who might be wary of a well-known detective, and get information - or even confessions - by faking being a member of their social class.

Crimes & Punishments marks the most important stage in the Sherlock Holmes series. The decision by Frogwares studios to switch from the in-house engine to the Epic Unreal Engine 3 enables a much richer, more immersive and detailed rendering of both the environments and characters.

But the change of game engine has not only improved the graphics; new investigation techniques have been developed and the game can now offer 14 game mechanics. From the opening of each of the six investigations up to the arrest of the culprits and the moral dilemmas faced by the players, the new game mechanics convey the feeling of BEING Sherlock Holmes. Players will therefore be able to exploit the incredible gifts and talents for which he is renowned, such as his ability to guess the details of an individual's life simply by observing them, or to imagine and reconstruct a past event by studying the key features of a crime scene.
