Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass Cancelled by Ubisoft

News: Ubisoft has cancelled the Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass and is giving a free game away to those who bought it.

Assassin’s Creed Unity came out a couple of weeks ago and had a pretty rough launch for some people. There were some who could barely play the game due to framerate and other issues while others were able to play the game with almost no problems at all. The whole thing has been a very weird situation but Ubisoft is trying to make up for it.

For starters, effective today, Ubisoft has cancelled the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass. It is no longer available anywhere to purchase. Instead Ubisoft revealed that they are going to give the “Dead Kings” DLC away for free to everyone. It gets even better though if you are someone who bought the season pass before it was cancelled. Ubisoft also revealed that to thank those who bought the season pass early on, those people are going to get a free game from Ubisoft's recent lineup. You will get to pick one free game out of the following list:

The Crew

Far Cry 4

Watch Dogs

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Rayman Legends

Just Dance 2015

If you purchased the Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass or the Assassin’s Creed Unity Gold Edition (which included the season pass) you are eligible for this promotion. If you did not purchase the season pass you will still receive the “Dead Kings” DLC for free as a thank you for buying Assassin’s Creed Unity. The free game is not available right now but should be available soon as Ubisoft works on their end to make this happen.

This also raises a question as to how Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be handled. This is a standalone, 2D game that Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass holders received. Ubisoft has stated that season pass owners will still have access to the game but what about the rest of us? I e-mailed Ubisoft regarding whether they were going to release Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China separately so those who want to buy it can, however, I had not heard back from them at the time this story went up. If I hear anything from them I will be sure to come back and update this story.
