News: PSN is experiencing intermittent outages right now due to “heavy network traffic” with Sony’s engineers working to restore full service.
PSN is down again for some users. Reports are coming in from a variety of sources ranging from people not being able to sign in to the service to being able to sign in but not having full functionality. PlayStation is apparently aware of the matter as their official support says that PSN is experiencing “Heavy Network Traffic” and the @AskPlayStation Twitter account has stated,
“We’re aware that some players are seeing drops on PSN. Engineers are on the case and investigating.”
Just what does “Heavy Network Traffic” exactly mean? Is there another DDOS attack on PSN taking place? Is there just, for some reason, a much higher number of people on PSN right now than normal? Rest assured that if you are having problems logging in to PSN at the moment that is most likely a problem on Sony’s side and there is nothing wrong with your equipment.
As of 11:16 pm Pacific time on January 6, 2015 PSN is experiencing issues. Perhaps it is up by the time you are reading this and we hope it is! Have you been experiencing any problems or has PSN been working perfectly fine for you this evening? Tell us what you think below.
