News: New content is available for Project Spark players along with the Year One Edition which gives you the previously released content.

”Project

Project Spark was released last year as a free to play “game” where you could let your imagination run wild and create your own type of game or simply play creations made by other members of the community. With that said there were items that you could buy if you so choose to do so. Content packs, for example, have been released with additional props and features. Today there are close to 40 content packs available in the marketplace if you choose to go down that route.

For those who are just starting out though (or you just want everything in the same spot), Microsoft has just revealed the Project Spark: Year One Edition, available for 5,000 tokens ($49.99 USD). It contains every single content pack released in Project Spark to date, with the exception of Conker (due to the different rating), and a pre-order on the next two content packs: Biome Music and Battle Stations. On top of that this edition includes three months of Spark Premium and 20 additional upload slots. You'll still be able to purchase packs individually, that won't change. But now there's one simple entry point that gives you more than one year of content, 1,500+ assets, 35+ packs.

In addition to the year one edition they are also rolling out a Realms Series bundle for 3,000 tokens ($29.99 USD) with all fantasy content, an updated Galaxies Series bundle for 2,000 tokens ($19.99 USD) with all sci-fi content and a Creator Series bundle for 2,000 tokens with all Builder Packs. Spark Premium is also undergoing some changes. Beginning now, you will have two ways to get Spark Premium. You can purchase three months and ten upload slots for 1,500 tokens ($14.99 USD) or one year and fifty upload slots for 55,000 tokens ($54.99 USD).

For those core creators, the developers behind Project Spark have something for you as well. Every creator that has spent over $40, logged over 150 hours or received over 10,000 downloads will receive three months of Spark Premium, including 10 additional upload slots for free within the next few days.

The free core content of Project Spark will also be getting an update. Beginning now, the following content packs will be available to all players:

  • Keys to the Castle

  • Nomadic Warrior

  • Gifts & Lights

  • Clovers & Gold

  • Champions Quest: Void Storm

  • If you didn’t previously own these content packs before, you will find them automatically unlocked for you. These updates will add more than 50 props to your creation gallery. What do you think of Project Spark? Are you a big creator or do you just enjoy playing material created by the community?
