News: Xbox One gamers will get the beta 24 hours before everyone else and all beta participants will receive an in-game reward.
Earlier today Ubisoft revealed that there is going to be an open beta today for the Division and that it is going to be happening soon. This beta will take place February 19-21 on PS4 and PC and everyone can pre-load the beta beginning on February 16. If you are an Xbox One gamer you will get 24 hour early access with the beta beginning on February 18 and running through February 21.
The recent closed beta appears to have been a big success for Ubisoft so now they are inviting everyone to stress test the game as much as possible during this open beta period to try and make sure everything works properly when the game launches a few weeks later. It will provide player feedback to the development team that will benefit the game experience once it is available in stores.
In addition to the content that was featured in the closed beta, the open beta will include an all new story mission for players to explore in their pursuit to save the city. Furthermore, everyone who participates in this latest testing phase will receive a special in-game reward which will unlock for players when the full game is released.
The Division takes place weeks after a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City on Black Friday. One by one, basic services fail and in only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, is activated to save society. Team up with other players to investigate the source of the virus, protect civilians from dangerous factions, and reclaim the city from the overwhelming turmoil.
