A new indie 3D action platformer just went live on Kickstarter recently with Tyler: Model-005. In this new game the player controls a miniature robot named Tyler during an alternate version of the 1950s. Many years after being shut down, Tyler is accidentally powered up during a thunderstorm. You will then set off with Tyler to discover where your creator went and what has happened to your home, which is now overrun with robot sized rats, cockroaches and more.
As I mentioned above Tyler is a miniature robot. This means that items such as pencils and coffee mugs can become weapons. Obstacles in the world can involve everyday items such as chairs, stairs and bookshelves. The environments are being crafted to include puzzles, collectibles and things you can climb. The developer wants you discovering as much about the world as you possibly can while playing.
Almost every game has enemies of course and your miniature form will have you battling with foes you normally don’t encounter. There are ants and rats and other creatures that you will have to deal with during your journey. You have a variety of weapons at your disposal though such as your bolt-blade to boxing gloves and more.
If this game sounds interesting you can download a super early playable demo of the opening segment of the game. Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress and is by no means the final product. If you like what you see you can go to Kickstarter and back the game to try and make sure it gets finished and released. Tyler: Model-005 is slated to be released in a few more months as the development team tries to polish and tighten things up beforehand.
